Emergency repair of provincial road 294B collapsed due to storm and rain started

BAC NINH - The Bac Ninh Provincial Traffic and Agriculture Project Management Board No. 1 has just started the emergency repair of provincial road 294B, which was eroded by storms and rains, with a total investment of nearly 13 billion VND from the provincial budget reserve in 2025.

Provincial Road 294B was completed and put into use in 2025, connecting Bac Ninh province with Thai Nguyen province. The project has a main route of more than 42 km and a branch route of nearly 13.8 km. However, due to the impact of many storms and rains, there are many landslides on this route, greatly affecting the safety of the project and traffic safety on the route.

Construction unit organized to clear landslides down to provincial road 294B.

Faced with this reality, in August this year, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to declare an emergency situation and an order to build urgent works to repair and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, ensuring traffic on Provincial Road 294B, from Km10 - Km42 passing through the communes of Tam Tien, Xuan Luong, and Quang Trung.

The project is invested by Bac Ninh Province Traffic and Agriculture Project Management Board No. 1. Phat Dat TY Investment, Construction and Trade Limited Liability Company, Tan Yen Commune is the construction contractor.

The contractor mobilized machinery to simultaneously construct many landslides on provincial road 294B.

According to the design, the contractor will organize the construction to clear the landslide area and dig and treat the positive slope that is at risk of further landslides; repair the damaged road surface, and add a traffic safety system if necessary. At the same time, the contractor will cut the floor, dig and widen the slope to ensure technical safety, and complete the stairway system.

It is known that before starting the project, the Bac Ninh Province Traffic and Agriculture Project Management Board No. 1 coordinated with the People's Committees of the above communes to organize site clearance to facilitate the construction contractor.

According to the plan, the above project will be completed before November 30. Thereby, it will overcome the landslide situation, causing traffic insecurity for people, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
