Awakening the power of Vietnamese culture in the digital age

Through studying the draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party, I highly agree with the viewpoints, policies and orientations stated in the documents, especially the content on "Strong and comprehensive development of Vietnamese culture and people". The draft documents clearly demonstrate the strategic vision and innovative and comprehensive thinking about Vietnamese culture and people.

However, in order for policies and orientations in this field to truly come into life, it is necessary to specify the role of grassroots cultural institutions, develop reading culture and digital transformation in the cultural field. This is one of the key factors to turn culture into a truly endogenous resource, a great spiritual driving force for development.

Firstly, it is recommended to clarify the role of the public cultural institutions system, especially public libraries, museums, and grassroots cultural and sports centers, in disseminating knowledge, improving people's intelligence, nurturing personality, ethics, lifestyle, and arousing people's aspirations to contribute. There should be a mechanism and policy for focused and synchronous investment in grassroots cultural institutions, ensuring people's access to quality cultural life and social services. Specify and effectively implement the national target program on cultural development for the period 2025 - 2035.

Second, add content on developing reading culture - an important factor in human development. It is recommended to emphasize: "Developing reading culture becomes the foundation for improving people's knowledge, building a learning society, contributing to forming the personality, lifestyle and creative capacity of Vietnamese people".

Finally, in the context of strong digital transformation, it is recommended to clarify the orientation of developing digital culture, digital libraries, digital heritage, etc. to preserve and spread national cultural values, while meeting people's need to access modern knowledge.
