Recently, the Provincial Party Committee's monitoring delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh The - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited Somo Farm Cuu Long Ecological Experience Farm. |
With the advantages of gardens and rivers, Vinh Long is considered a locality with great potential for developing ecotourism and garden tourism. Therefore, many ecotourism start-up models with the criteria of relaxation and integration with nature have been born, combining orchards, farms with homestays, cuisine , etc.
The tourism model has created attraction for tourists, created additional income for local people, and contributed to local economic development.
Green farm - peace in the homeland
With the desire to convey his love for his homeland and let tourists explore the natural beauty, culture, cuisine and people of the West, Mr. Nguyen Lam Vinh Huy - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Somo Farm Cuu Long, a son of Mang Thit hometown, chose the path of entrepreneurship by starting to build an ecological experience farm.
According to Mr. Huy, this is the choice of many tourists, to "escape" the hustle and bustle of city life and find moments of relaxation and peace in the countryside. Officially welcoming guests from September 2022, the farm has a total area of 9 hectares, of which 6 hectares are for the garden and 3 hectares for building services for guests to stay, restaurants, and cafes.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan Tran - Member of the Board of Directors of Somo Farm Cuu Long, shared: "The farm model here aims to experience and learn about the cultural beauty of the Mekong Delta combined with eco -tourism activities, organic farming... so that visitors can feel the good traditional values and proudly spread them to friends near and far".
Accordingly, visitors here will be transformed into a child of the West with typical experiential activities such as: folk games, rowing a boat, catching fish in the ditch... Besides, visitors can also make their own handicrafts such as pottery, weaving mats, weaving baskets or learning to cook traditional Southern dishes.
Sitting on a sampan, drifting along the coconut-shaded river, visitors can also visit fruit-laden orchards, immerse themselves in the natural river and have the opportunity to learn more about the simple, honest beauty of the people of the West. Not only that, in a fresh and peaceful space, the farm also serves visitors to enjoy dishes in the direction of "homegrown".
Among the experiences at the farm, a visit to the “Kingdom of Red Ceramics” where thousands of brick and ceramic kilns are built close together is a must. Inspired by the “Contemporary Heritage” of Mang Thit bricks and ceramics, the farm built a brick kiln model right on the farm so that visitors can learn and take souvenir photos.
Each room is also decorated with red ceramics and delicately named with the mark of the countryside. Every corner of the garden, every decoration is carefully considered to preserve the most authentic things, showing the unique characteristics of Mang Thit.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep - Chairman of Cai Nhum Town People's Committee (Mang Thit) said: The farm is invested in the direction of a farm, combining relaxation, sightseeing and experiencing activities close to nature. Initially, the farm went into operation with quite good results.
The farm mainly welcomes guests from Ho Chi Minh City, neighboring areas, and foreign guests. The farm has also contributed to solving local labor problems, implementing social security work well, thereby contributing to promoting local economic and social development.
Immerse yourself in nature - honor indigenous culture
As a pioneer model of green eco-tourism, Binh Minh Ecolodge Riverside Resort (My Hoa commune, Binh Minh town) was put into operation with an area of 4,000m2. During the exploitation and construction process, it still retains the natural terrain with canals, fish ponds, fruit trees and local plants.
Mr. Ha Tri Cao - Director of the resort, said: "I want to bring a nature-friendly accommodation model, taking advantage of the value but still preserving the wild beauty of Binh Minh homeland".
According to many tourists, Binh Minh Ecolodge Riverside Resort not only provides a space close to nature and protects the environment, but also contributes to honoring indigenous culture and sustainable tourism.

Binh Minh Ecolodge Riverside Resort helps visitors immerse themselves in nature and relax in a peaceful setting. |
Accordingly, the resort has exploited the beautiful terrain along the Hau River, the homestay area includes 10 rooms in harmony with nature, all with views of the garden or lake. In front of each room is a wooden porch and a garden full of flowers and grass. Each room is cleverly and delicately decorated, incorporating and conveying green living messages.
In addition, using local specialties, including tofu skin products certified as OCOP products, the resort has created many delicious dishes to serve tourists.
According to Mr. Ha Tri Cao, coming here not only inspires a green lifestyle but also helps visitors have culinary experiences with the most natural and fresh flavors. The resort also contributes to creating jobs and stable income for many local workers, thereby contributing to supporting sustainable tourism development.
It can be seen that investing in building eco-tourism start-up models is very beneficial for rural agriculture and tourism to develop together. Integrating the development of OCOP products with tourism will make the most of the resources of each locality. This is also the direction that localities are aiming for.
Ecotourism model to experience activities in the countryside is very popular with tourists. |
The development of this type of tourism will create more jobs and increase income for local people. With these meanings, the green tourism trend with safety and sustainability criteria promises to develop strongly in the future. Both tourism models are highly appreciated by local authorities, have development prospects and need investment attention to maintain sustainability.
