Unleash youth creativity

During the working session at Warehouse K3 (Logistics-Technical Department of Military Region 4), we were introduced by Captain Nguyen Dinh Giap, Head of the General Repair Station, to the initiative "Equipment for cooking oil to seal materials, small spare parts of weapons and equipment". The machine is only larger than a paint bucket, but inside is an automatic control circuit system connected to a heating element, capable of maintaining a stable temperature, automatically shutting off when exceeding the safety threshold or there is an electrical leak.

Previously, each time the repair department boiled oil, they had to use charcoal, which was time-consuming, difficult to control the temperature, and potentially harmful to the environment. Thanks to the new initiative, boiling 12 liters of oil only takes 45 minutes, while saving up to 80% of the cost compared to before.

Youth of Regiment 335, Division 324, Military Region 4 introduced the initiative at the training launch ceremony.

Not only in the technical field, the creativity of the youth of the Military Region also spreads strongly in many different professions. At Military Hospital 4, Major, Doctor Pham Quang Anh, Head of the Orthopedic Trauma Department, has applied the open-arch surgery method to treat lumbar-sacral disc herniation into practice. The project won third prize at the 25th Military Youth Creative Award. The greatest value of the project is to bring solid progress in treatment, helping thousands of patients have the opportunity to escape the persistent pain caused by disc herniation.

In the field of Party work and political work, the topic "Building the determination to dare to face difficulties and challenges of young officers in the Military Region 4 today" by Lieutenant Colonel Ly Ngoc Hau, Assistant to the Army Youth Committee and Major Nguyen Thi Nga, librarian, Propaganda Department of the Military Region's Political Department, approached the problem with a scientific perspective, closely linked to reality. This is an excellent initiative that won the third prize of the 24th Creative Youth Award in the Army. The work contributes significantly to fostering the courage and strengthening the motivation for the young generation of officers.

Statistics over the past 5 years show that the entire Military Region has nearly 1,000 entries for the Nguyen Viet Xuan Award; more than 300 entries won awards at the Military Region level. Of the 79 entries selected to participate in the Creative Youth Award in the Army, 34 entries won awards at the military level. These "telling numbers" reflect the vibrant competitive atmosphere and the desire to contribute of the youth of Military Region 4.

To achieve outstanding results, the Party Committee Standing Committee and the Military Region 4 Command always pay close attention to leadership and direction. The Political Department proactively advises on launching movements, assigns specific targets, improves the quality of the model of "Young scientific groups, teams, and clubs", and at the same time creates conditions in terms of time and funding for cadres and union members to conduct research. The Nguyen Viet Xuan Award is closely linked to the movement of innovation, technical improvement, training tool models and emulation movements, major campaigns in the entire army, thereby creating a widespread creative movement, spreading strongly in the Military Region's armed forces.

Colonel Bui The Ky, Head of the Mass Affairs Department, Political Department of Military Region 4, affirmed that all projects and initiatives have been carefully invested, strictly inspected and effectively applied in practice. Many initiatives help save costs, increase productivity, shorten time, ensure safety for soldiers; at the same time, contribute to improving the quality of training, combat readiness and completing assigned tasks well.
