Resiliently light the fire of knowledge
Starting in the period of 1985 - 1987, Y La High School (formerly Tuyen Quang Town Study and Work High School) was born from a strong aspiration in the context of the country still having many troubles after the war. The first teachers and students were not afraid of hardships, together writing proud pages of history. Here, cultural knowledge intertwined and blended with professional skills, with the image of students studying culture in the morning and going to the brick kiln and carpentry workshop in the afternoon. There were many shortages, from rows of classrooms made of bamboo, tables and chairs made by students themselves, brick kilns learning trades behind the classroom, but it was in those hardships that the teacher-student relationship, fellow students' affection and the desire to rise up became the strongest glue. The school's students even created 13 products that met national exhibition standards and the school was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training .
Continuing that spirit, in November 1987, the school was officially named Song Lo Technical High School. Inspired by the 40th anniversary of the Song Lo victory, the school persistently pursued a vocational technical education model and was proud of its 100% university-educated teaching staff. With the spirit of "learning while building a school", the teachers and students joined hands to build the first works such as a two-story office building and a three-room classroom building. Although it had to cope with natural disasters, classrooms were flooded, and facilities were seriously degraded, with a strong will, the school overcame everything. During this period, the school trained 5 courses of students, of which more than 200 students of the first 3-year program graduated in 1988, officially entering life with a solid knowledge and skills. The creative spirit and will to overcome difficulties fostered in the early years have become core values, inspiring the next generations.

Teacher Hoang Thi Thu Hang, Principal of Y La High School, affirmed that, looking back on the past journey, the school respects and is grateful for the silent yet extremely noble contributions of generations of teachers, who have sown seeds of knowledge and personality over the years; grateful for the constant companionship and support of parents, the community and authorities at all levels. 40 years - a journey long enough to look back, deep enough to feel and wide enough to dream. From the first foundations to today's development, every step of the school is a living proof of the spirit of overcoming difficulties, perseverance, and firm belief in the value of knowledge and education.
