| National Highway 49 has been temporarily repaired to ensure traffic safety. |
On the morning of October 24, the City Road Management Department said that the unit had dispatched motor vehicles, workers and materials to temporarily fix many landslides on National Highway 49 through Thuy Xuan Ward ( Hue City).
Due to continuous heavy rain in recent days, the section at Km23+800 and Km23+810 on National Highway 49 has experienced a landslide on the negative slope along 2 sections of about 30m. This is the area of the negative slope landslide facing the bank of the Huong River. With the current heavy rain, the risk of landslides is likely to continue in the coming time.
Mr. Le Cong Vinh, Deputy Director of Hue City Road Construction and Management Joint Stock Company, said that the unit has temporarily overcome the problem by filling up the landslide area with soil and rocks, using tarps to cover the landslide area to prevent rainwater from causing further landslides. In addition, the company has assigned 3 workers at each end to regulate and install warning signs of narrow roads, allowing traffic to flow in one lane, ensuring traffic safety on the route. Also at Lim 1 Bridge under construction, the official road is flooded, and is being diverted to the Tam Thai direction to the planning area, and some small landslides on Ho Chi Minh Road have been repaired and cleared.
Also on the morning of October 24, many landslides and rocks spilling onto the road surface on National Highway 49B through Vinh Loc and Phu Loc communes were promptly handled and repaired by Hue City Road Joint Stock Company No. 1.
