Cold air strengthens, some places in the North below 17 degrees Celsius

The cold air has intensified, causing the temperature in the North to drop, making it cold in some places. In the North, Thanh Hoa and Northern Nghe An, there is rain in many places.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, cold air has affected the Northeast region, some places in the Northwest and North Central regions. There has been rain in the North and Thanh Hoa regions. At Bach Long Vi station, there has been strong Northeast wind at level 5, sometimes level 6.

It is forecasted that on the night of October 31 and November 1, the cold air will continue to strengthen, expanding its influence to other areas in the North Central and Northwest regions, then affecting the Central Central region. On land, the Northeast wind will be strong at level 2-3, and in coastal areas at level 3.

Due to the influence of cold air combined with disturbances in the East wind zone, there is rain in many places in the North, Thanh Hoa and North Nghe An. The lowest temperature is commonly 18 - 21 degrees Celsius, in some places in the mountainous areas of the North it is below 17 degrees Celsius. In Hanoi area: there is rain, cold weather, the lowest temperature is commonly 19 - 21 degrees Celsius.

Specifically, on the night of October 31 and November 1, the North and North Central regions will have the lowest temperature of 18 - 21 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas it will be below 17 degrees Celsius; the average temperature will be 20 - 22 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas it will be below 20 degrees Celsius.

On the night of November 1 and the day of November 2, the North and North Central regions will have the lowest temperature of 18 - 21 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas it will be below 17 degrees Celsius; the average temperature will be 21 - 23 degrees Celsius, in mountainous areas it will be below 21 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of cold air strengthening combined with disturbances in the upper easterly wind zone, the area from South Nghe An to Quang Ngai has heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms.

At sea, in the Gulf of Tonkin and the sea area from South Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, there are strong northeast winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 1.5-3 m high.

The North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa archipelago) has strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, and waves 2-4 m high.

Experts warn that thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, break trees, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure. Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams; landslides on steep slopes. Heavy rain in a short period of time can cause flooding in urban and industrial areas.

In addition, strong winds and large waves at sea can affect the operation of ships and other activities. Cold weather can affect people's health, especially the elderly and children.
