On June 22, in Hai Phong , a delegation from the Coast Guard Command led by Major General Vu Trung Kien, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard's Law Department, inspected preparations for the third Vietnam-China Young Coast Guard Officer Exchange Program.
The delegation inspected three locations: Headquarters of Coast Guard Region 1 Command; Squadron 11, Coast Guard Region 1 Command and a fishing village in Lap Le commune, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city.

After directly inspecting and reviewing all aspects of preparation work, especially the content and locations of the exchange program, Major General Vu Trung Kien thoroughly grasped and assigned specific tasks to relevant agencies, units and forces.
Major General Vu Trung Kien affirmed that the Vietnam-China Coast Guard Young Officer Exchange Program is a key task of 2023. In particular, the activities taking place in Coast Guard Region 1 are core activities, having important significance in determining the success of the entire program.

Therefore, Major General Vu Trung Kien emphasized the need to urgently complete a number of important tasks, such as: Thoroughly instilling in officers and soldiers a correct understanding of the meaning, position, role, and goals of the exchange program, creating a vibrant emulation movement to well perform the task of preparing for the program; Continuing to review and adjust the content of the plan so that all implementation options achieve the best results; Closely coordinating with agencies, units, and localities to continue to perfect the preparation work on reception, decoration, celebration, health , and propaganda, ensuring the organization is solemn, thoughtful, and absolutely safe.
The 3rd Vietnam-China Young Coast Guard Officer Exchange Program with the theme "Joining hands to protect the marine environment", is expected to take place next August, with the following activities: Paying courtesy visits to leaders of the General Department of Politics and Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard; visiting the Command of Coast Guard Region 1, visiting the Vietnam Coast Guard ship, planting souvenir trees; visiting, giving gifts, and participating in environmental protection activities at the fishing village in Lap Le commune, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong city; exchanging experiences in law enforcement at sea; sports exchanges and Gala Night.

The program aims to consolidate and deepen the good cooperative relationship between the two forces, making the relationship between the Vietnam Coast Guard and the China Coast Guard more substantial and effective; and creating a premise to build and promote other cooperative activities at higher levels in the coming time.
Through the program, young officers of the Vietnam and China Coast Guards can enhance exchanges, learn, and share experiences in performing the functions and tasks of the two forces. In addition, the activities in the program also help the young generation of both sides to better understand the cultural beauty, customs, and historical values of each country; enhance mutual understanding and trust, contributing to tightening the traditional solidarity and friendship between the two peoples and the two forces.
