Implementing the Project on restructuring military enterprises for the period 2021-2025 according to Decision No. 66/QD-TT of the Prime Minister, on September 19, 2025, the Minister of National Defense signed Decision No. 4668/QD-BQP on the reorganization of Song Thu Corporation, in which Factory X50 transferred the functions, tasks, and number of departments, offices, and production workshops to departments, offices, and enterprises under Song Thu Corporation. This is a major policy of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense in response to the requirement of building a lean, compact, and strong Army to meet the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Dinh Truong Son, General Director of Song Thu Corporation, said: The merger of Factory X50 into Song Thu Corporation is not just a simple administrative decision, but a turning point in the process of forming a modern, streamlined, and specialized production organization model of the Vietnam Defense Industry. In particular, Song Thu Corporation - formerly Song Thu Company, was established in 1976, and has now become one of Vietnam's key defense enterprises in the field of building and repairing modern ships.

Over more than four decades of construction and development, Song Thu Corporation has built hundreds of new ships for national defense, security, civilian life and export; gradually mastered modern shipbuilding technology, cooperated with many international partners and built a prestigious brand in the domestic and foreign markets. Factory X50 is a unit with a long tradition, skilled workforce, committed to the task of building and repairing ships, especially in the field of repairing and ensuring technical safety of military ships of the Navy and forces tasked with protecting sovereignty over seas and islands.

After the merger, Song Thu Corporation identified 3 strategic orientations and 5 key task groups to ensure sustainable, effective and long-term stable development. In which, the 3 strategic orientations are: Restructuring the organization, streamlining and effective management; building a professional and unified management model, clearly defining the functions, tasks and powers of each member unit, in which X50 becomes the main base for repairing and ensuring technical ships and military ships. Modernizing infrastructure, technology and production capacity; investing in upgrading the system of wharves, factories, equipment, applying advanced production processes, digitalizing management, towards a "smart" model, saving energy, and being environmentally friendly. Developing human resources, corporate culture and brand; training, fostering, and planning staff; building a unified, respectful, and united corporate culture for progress; Promote the brand "Song Thu - X50: Strong in technique, strong in spirit, sustainable in development".
