Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Phu Quoc used to be a deserted island, people's lives faced many difficulties, there was no electricity, no roads and fresh water was very scarce.
However, Phu Quoc has now changed dramatically and developed strongly, especially local island tourism. In 2023, Phu Quoc welcomed more than 5 million domestic and foreign visitors to visit and relax.
Therefore, to further develop Phu Quoc island tourism, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the People's Committee of Kien Giang province should have many policies to call for attracting all resources and accompany, listen to, and understand businesses.
"Sun Group has participated in the spearhead tourism economy and contributed to the strong development of Phu Quoc island tourism, becoming a famous destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
Sun Group needs to continue promoting the spirit of changing the land wherever it goes, in accordance with the law, effectively, contributing to social security, maintaining national defense and security, and giving Phu Quoc people a prosperous life," the Prime Minister emphasized.
