From June 18, Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate reopens customs in Quang Ninh : Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate reopens customs

According to information from the Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate Customs Branch (Quang Ninh Customs Department), from the beginning of the year to September 30, 2024, the total import and export turnover of goods through the Bac Phong Sinh (Vietnam) - Ly Hoa (China) Customs Clearance at the bilateral border gate pair Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) - Dong Trung (China) reached more than 45.9 million USD, an increase of 0.17% in turnover and 1.8% in the number of declarations compared to the same period in 2023.

The Department processed 2,973 import-export declarations of 43 enterprises, with a total turnover of goods reaching more than 45.9 million USD, an increase of 0.17% in turnover and 1.8% in the number of declarations compared to the same period in 2023.

Of which, export turnover reached nearly 43.2 million USD with 2,750 declarations, up 0.64% in turnover and 4% in number of declarations compared to the same period in 2023. Import turnover reached more than 2.7 million USD with 223 declarations; down 7% in turnover, down 19.8% in number of declarations compared to the same period in 2023.

Total state budget revenue in the first 9 months of 2024 reached more than 10.2 billion VND, an increase of 10.01% over the same period in 2023, reaching 102.98% of the assigned plan and 68.66% of the target.

In September 2024 alone, the import-export turnover through the Bac Phong Sinh - Ly Hoa Customs Clearance reached more than 3.3 million USD with 264 declarations; a decrease of 10.64% in turnover and 14.84% in the number of declarations compared to August 2024. The reason for this decrease is due to the strict management policy from China, increasing inspection and control of frozen agricultural and aquatic products.

In addition, since August 20, 2024, National Highway 18B has been eroded and has not yet been repaired, seriously affecting the transportation of goods for businesses.

In particular, the import items in September 2024 increased compared to August 2024 because after the official announcement ceremony of the Bac Phong Sinh - Ly Hoa customs clearance, China allowed large trucks to transport Chinese export goods to Vietnam, accordingly, the import volume gradually increased, reaching an average of 4-5 large trucks/day.

However, imported goods at this customs clearance have not yet returned to normal as before due to restrictions on types, items with intellectual property rights violations, and labels exported to Vietnam are strictly inspected and controlled by Chinese authorities.
