Previously, at 2:45 p.m. on November 2, 2025, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station received a report that fishing vessel CM-05144-TS owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Hao (born in 1964, Khanh Lam commune, Ca Mau province), assigned to Mr. Nguyen Minh Vuong (born in 1985, Song Loc commune, Vinh Long province) as captain, operating a trawl net, departed through Da Bac estuary to go to sea on the morning of November 2, with 1 more crew member on board.

At about 2:30 p.m. the same day, when the captain was steering the fishing boat into Kinh Hoi estuary (Khanh Lam commune, Ca Mau) to take shelter, he suddenly encountered big waves and strong winds, causing the fishing boat to break down and sink in an area about 2 nautical miles southwest of Kinh Hoi estuary.

Upon receiving the news, Khanh Hoi Border Guard Station mobilized the tugboat of Mr. Vo Van Hue Quang (Hamlet 3, Khanh Lam Commune) and 1 fisherman and sent 6 officers and soldiers to immediately go to sea to rescue.

At 3:30 p.m., the rescue team reached the area where the ship sank and rescued two crew members, bringing them safely ashore. However, due to high waves and strong winds, the fishing boat CM-05144-TS has not been salvaged yet.

Currently, the health of the two fishermen has stabilized, estimated property damage is about 150 million VND.
