30th anniversary of Nam Phuoc town's establishment

On August 29, 1994, Nam Phuoc town was established under Decree No. 102 of the Government on the basis of the former Duy An commune with a natural area of ​​15.46 km ² and a population of 20,000 people.

At that time, the town’s economy was still very small, people mainly lived on agriculture, and the technical infrastructure was still rudimentary. The whole town had only two asphalt roads running across and along the town, National Highway 1 and National Highway 14H, the remaining traffic routes were all dirt roads.

Over the past thirty years, from a land with many difficulties, Nam Phuoc has risen to become a young and vibrant city with a rapid urbanization rate. The scale of the economy has increased, the production value in 2023 is equivalent to 4,500 billion VND, the economic structure is shifting strongly towards services - industry - agriculture .

In recent years, Nam Phuoc town has chosen to invest in technical infrastructure construction as a breakthrough. In addition to state funding, Nam Phuoc people have voluntarily donated nearly 22 hectares of land for traffic infrastructure construction. Up to now, Nam Phuoc town has 108 streets with names and house numbers; of which 45 are asphalt roads and 63 are concrete roads with a road surface width of 5.5 - 7.5m.

Along with focusing on economic development and infrastructure construction, cultural and social work is always given top priority. Over the past thirty years, Nam Phuoc town has always been the leading unit in the teaching and learning movement of Duy Xuyen district. Political security and social order and safety are always guaranteed.
