Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Forest Ranger Force (May 21, 1973

On May 15, the Forest Protection Department held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Forest Protection Force (May 21, 1973 - May 21, 2023). Attending the ceremony were leaders of a number of departments and branches; representatives of generations of leaders and all civil servants and employees of the forest protection force through the periods.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 50-year tradition of building and developing the Vietnam Forest Ranger force. On September 24, 1973, the Cao Bang Provincial People's Forest Ranger Department was established. Through periods of changes in organization and operation, the forest ranger force has increasingly met the development requirements of the locality in each period. Currently, the Forest Ranger Department's apparatus is streamlined, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operations with 4 specialized departments, 10 District and City Forest Ranger Sub-Departments and 1 mobile forest ranger and forest fire prevention and fighting team. The whole sector has 160 civil servants and employees, of which university and postgraduate qualifications account for 84.4%; intermediate and advanced political theory qualifications account for 30%.

Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development awarded certificates of merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in emulation movements.

Promoting the core role in the cause of forest management, protection and development, the provincial forest rangers actively advise the province to implement the zoning plan of 3 types of forests (forest planning, protection and development). From 2017 to present, the whole province has planted 6,088.86 hectares of forest, of which 873.19 hectares are protected and special-use forests; 5,215 hectares are production forests. Detecting 891 cases, handling 795 cases of violations of the Forestry Law, handling many violations related to wildlife, the total amount of money collected to the State budget from handling violations is over 7 billion VND. Implementing the policy of paying for forest environmental services, to date, the whole province has paid more than 135.4 billion VND. In addition, the forest rangers have actively transformed digitally, applied information technology in supporting forest management and protection, contributing to increasing the forest cover rate of the whole province to 56%.

To improve the effectiveness of forest management and protection, in the coming time, the forestry sector will continue to synchronously, resolutely and effectively implement solutions for forest management and protection according to Directive No. 13-CT/TW, dated January 12, 2017 of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in forest management, protection and development. Raise awareness, responsibility, public ethics, promote the spirit of setting an example of the team of cadres and civil servants, especially leading and managing civil servants; build forest rangers who are good at their expertise, profession and have clean ethics and lifestyle. Effectively implement the campaign "Studying and following the ideology, morality and lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh ".

On this occasion, 2 collectives and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement "Emulation to achieve achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Forestry Force" were awarded certificates of merit by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
