The conference reviewed the past two years, noting that the Party Committee and the Command of Naval Region 4 have decisively led and directed the implementation of comprehensive solutions to green and provide shade on the islands of Truong Sa archipelago. They have proactively coordinated and organized propaganda and mobilization efforts to secure support in terms of trees, materials, and funding for greening the islands of the Truong Sa Archipelago. Through coordination and collaboration with localities, businesses, and individuals in implementing the "Greening Truong Sa" program in 2023 and 2024, they have successfully propagated and supported nearly 450,000 trees; over 150 tons of fertilizer and nearly 600 tons of nutrient-rich soil. Six tree nurseries covering approximately 3,500 square meters have been established to provide a source of green trees. The total number of trees planted across the archipelago is over 80,000, including: coconut, casuarina, Terminalia catappa, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia catappa, mango, Terminalia catappa, and several other species.
Looking ahead, the Command of Naval Region 4 will focus on directing the planning of areas for tree planting, establishing nurseries for planting on the islands; proactively preparing forces and equipment, and deploying personnel when needed to load and transport materials, soil, seedlings, and fertilizers for planting; and organizing planting and providing windbreaks and wave protection. They will actively call upon localities, agencies, and businesses nationwide to promote, mobilize, and provide resources, especially material support, for planting and caring for trees, such as topsoil and fertilizers. They will also implement innovative and effective models to build a regular, green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape on the islands.

Concluding the conference, Colonel Ngo Dinh Xuyen, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, affirmed: The greening of the islands in Truong Sa district has great significance not only in proactively and effectively responding to climate change and developing the economy and national defense in Truong Sa, but also in contributing to building a regular, green, clean, and beautiful environmental landscape on the islands. Greenery in Truong Sa not only creates beautiful scenery, regulates the climate, and provides shade, but also acts as a barrier against wind and storms, directly contributing to the defense and combat capabilities of the military and civilians on the islands. It creates a green space for the soldiers and people of Truong Sa to work and live peacefully in this remote, windswept location.
The "Greening Truong Sa" program is a major initiative that requires the mobilization of contributions and support from localities, businesses, organizations, individuals, people nationwide, and overseas Vietnamese to support Truong Sa through practical actions, both material and spiritual, to green the islands and build Truong Sa district into an increasingly well-organized, green, clean, beautiful, and strong island district at the forefront of the waves and winds.
