On the morning of April 9, 2024, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Pham Tan Hoa, along with representatives from relevant departments and agencies, received and worked with the delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on coordinating support for human resource development training in Long An province.

During the meeting, the head of the Asian Development Bank delegation, Senior Social Specialist Mr. Fook Yen Chong, stated that surveys revealed Long An province has significant potential for training and developing high-quality human resources. The Asian Development Bank wishes to support Long An in developing a Human Resource Training Program for the province's semiconductor industry.

Specifically, ADB will provide experts to support the province in developing the project and coordinate with Long An province to implement contents such as: identifying human resource needs in the semiconductor industry and addressing employment after training; assessing the market based on an overall assessment of the economic potential of the semiconductor industry in the region and in Vietnam… In addition, ADB is ready to support the province in four program areas: training curricula, experts, workshops and learning equipment; coordinating connections with businesses and foreign partners to jointly invest and attract investment projects in Long An.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Pham Tan Hoa, expressed his gratitude to the Asian Development Bank delegation for their interest in and cooperation in supporting human resource development training in Long An province. The Vice Chairman stated that Long An province currently has a high demand for human resource training, especially high-quality human resources in the fields of artificial intelligence and semiconductor chips, in order to attract investment and develop the province's socio-economic development. He hoped the delegation would continue to pay attention to and support the province in developing a specific and feasible human resource training program for the semiconductor industry.
