Thai Nguyen Provincial leaders congratulate Buddha's Birthday

The delegation of Thai Nguyen province congratulated the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at Quan Su Pagoda ( Hanoi ).

Receiving and working with the Delegation were Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Member of the Council of Monks, Permanent Vice President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and other Venerables in the Executive Council.

Speaking on this occasion, comrade Pham Hoang Son sent his best wishes to the Council of Patriarchs, the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Executive Board of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Buddhist Sangha, and all monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the entire Sangha on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday, especially the Buddhist Sangha that has just successfully organized the United Nations Vesak in Vietnam.

Comrade Pham Hoang Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province, spoke.

Comrade Pham Hoang Son also provided an overview of the province's outstanding socio -economic development results. Accordingly, in the 2020-2025 term, the province's average economic growth will reach about 7% per year; the budget revenue in 2024 will reach over 20,000 billion VND; the poverty rate will decrease to below 2%; the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households will be completed ahead of schedule assigned by the Government... He emphasized that these achievements have important contributions from dignitaries, officials, and people of religions in the province, including Buddhists.

Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu presented a souvenir to comrade Pham Hoang Son.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Central Buddhist Sangha, Vietnamese Buddhism will continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, solidarity and companionship with the nation, "Protecting the nation and bringing peace to the people", contributing to building an increasingly prosperous, humane and civilized country.

In Thai Nguyen province, Buddhism is a major religion with nearly 200 pagodas, thousands of dignitaries, officials, monks and over 140 thousand followers.
