Lao Cai: Construction to begin on 5 social housing projects with 3,010 apartments by the end of this year.

According to the plan, by the end of 2025, Lao Cai province will start construction on 5 more social housing projects with a total of 3,013 apartments, using more than 10.26 hectares of land. These projects aim to meet the housing needs of low-income people, workers in industrial zones, and young officials.

Projects commencing construction later this year include: social housing in Lam Vien area (Cam Duong ward), social housing on Dien Bien street (Lao Cai ward), social housing in Cam Duong ward, social housing in Binh Minh Tay Bac (Au Lau ward), and social housing in Yen Bai ward.

In the first nine months of 2025, the entire province implemented 48 commercial housing projects with 10,108 individual houses and 259 apartments.

Currently, the province is constructing three social housing projects with a total of 3,685 units on an area of ​​8.42 hectares. These projects include: a social housing project for low-income earners in the Northwest Reserve Area (Sa Pa ward), a social housing project in the residential area adjacent to the extended B6 road (Cam Duong ward), and a social housing project on the left bank of the Red River in Van Hoa commune ( Lao Cai ward).

Over the years, Lao Cai province has promoted the development of social housing in urban areas to effectively implement social welfare policies and meet the increasing housing needs of the people, especially those with low incomes.
