NDO - On November 18, in Hanoi, the Institute of Animal Husbandry ( Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development ) held a Conference to summarize 30 years of PhD training and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Prime Minister's decision to assign the task of postgraduate training to the Institute of Animal Husbandry (November 1994 - November 2024).
Attending the Conference were representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Education and Training , together with the leadership, staff of the Institute of Animal Husbandry, instructors and postgraduate students.
Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Director of the Institute of Animal Husbandry, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Doan Lan emphasized: After 30 years of training at the doctoral level, the Institute of Animal Husbandry has successfully completed training tasks and implemented training activities according to the set plan. Closely following the goal of gradually improving training quality, many new and creative solutions have been implemented to meet the requirements in the new situation. The Institute of Animal Husbandry has achieved proud achievements, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of the Vietnamese livestock industry. With the orientation of focusing on training quality as the core, as a prerequisite for development, the Institute is committed to continuing to enhance its role in the training and scientific research system, ready to meet the requirements of innovation and international integration.
Over the past 30 years, the Institute of Animal Husbandry has enrolled 30 courses, a total of 168 PhD students from many different agencies and units in 3 majors: Animal Genetics and Breeding, Animal Nutrition and Feed, and Animal Husbandry. Currently, 98 PhD students have successfully defended their theses and have been awarded PhD degrees (24 PhD students in Animal Genetics and Breeding, 21 PhD students in Animal Nutrition and Feed, 53 PhD students in Animal Husbandry). Among the PhD graduates, 63 PhD students are trained as human resources for the Institute of Animal Husbandry; 35 PhD students are training human resources for other agencies. Currently, there are 12 PhD students studying in the 3 majors mentioned above.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Doan Lan said that many research results of PhD theses have been applied to production practices with high efficiency, many scientific articles from research results have been published in prestigious scientific journals at home and abroad, contributing to enhancing the position of Vietnam in the field of animal husbandry. Many PhDs trained from the Institute of Animal Husbandry are co-authors of the Ho Chi Minh Awards and State awards for science and technology. Many PhDs after graduation have become experienced scientific researchers, managers, and consultants in agricultural development policy making, especially in the field of animal husbandry.

The quality of doctoral training at the Institute of Animal Husbandry is not only reflected in outstanding research projects but also in practical contributions to the sustainable development of the animal husbandry industry. The doctors trained at the Institute are an important resource, contributing to improving scientific and technological capacity and meeting the requirements of innovation in the field of animal husbandry.
The Institute of Animal Husbandry's postgraduate training facility has received support from a large number of experts, Professors, Associate Professors, and Doctors inside and outside the Institute in the training and guidance of PhD students over the past 30 years. Nearly 100 teachers have participated in the main and secondary guidance for PhD students at the Institute of Animal Husbandry, including teachers who have guided many PhD students such as: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thien, Assoc. At the Conference, the Director of the Institute of Animal Husbandry, Dr. Pham Cong Thieu expressed his hope and best wishes to the PhD students to always find their passion in studying and scientific research, to successfully complete their courses and defend their doctoral dissertations, and to become shining examples for the younger generations to follow. The PhD students and PhD students continue to have many valuable and highly practical scientific research projects, contributing to the success of restructuring the livestock industry towards increasing added value and sustainability so that livestock farming becomes an important technical economic sector in agriculture.

The conference ended with a solemn award ceremony for PhD students who successfully defended their dissertations in recent courses.
