Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his wife came out to the parking area to greet General Secretary To Lam and presented his wife, Ngo Phuong Ly, with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Afterwards, President Ilham Aliyev and his wife, along with General Secretary To Lam and his wife, proceeded to the place of honor.

This state visit to Azerbaijan by General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, is the highest-level visit by a leader of the Vietnamese Party and State to Azerbaijan since the two countries established official diplomatic relations in 1992.
The visit will contribute to further strengthening cooperative relations between the two countries, especially in areas where Azerbaijan has strengths.
