The festival consists of two parts: the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony takes place solemnly with the ritual of welcoming the rice spirit, pounding green rice; the ritual of making green rice, making offerings and worshiping the local god. The festival has many unique, attractive and exciting activities, imbued with the cultural identity of the Black Thai people such as: cultural exchange, pounding green rice; playing folk games (throwing con, blindfolded duck catching, bamboo pole jumping), and the Xoe dance.
Comrade Tong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of Vietnam Green Rice Joint Stock Company presented flowers and souvenirs to Muong Kim commune on the occasion of the Festival.
This is the second year the festival has been organized at the commune level and the first year after the implementation of the 2-level local government model. Through the festival, it aims to create conditions for people of all ethnic groups in the commune to meet, exchange culture, strengthen solidarity; together promote the spirit and responsibility to preserve, conserve and promote good traditional cultural values. At the same time, it is an opportunity for the locality to promote and introduce the culture, people and nature of the revolutionary homeland of Muong Kim to tourists inside and outside the province... thereby promoting tourism development.
