Xuan Hong Festival receives hundreds of blood units

On February 1, at Pham Hung Political School (Ward 8, Vinh Long City), the Vinh Long Provincial Red Cross Association coordinated with the Can Tho City Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital to organize the Xuan Hong festival to receive voluntary blood donations.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Yen Phuong, President of the Vinh Long Provincial Red Cross Society, said that the unit organized voluntary blood donations for more than 150 people, union members, youths, and officers and staff of Pham Hung Political School.

Through the screening process, more than 100 people were eligible to donate 103 units of blood, with a capacity of 250 - 350 ml. This amount of blood will be transferred to treatment facilities to treat patients, helping the health sector reduce the difficulty of blood shortage, especially during this year's Tet holiday.

According to Ms. Phuong, in recent years, humanitarian blood donation activities have had a strong influence in the community of Vinh Long province. Every year, the province organizes many humanitarian blood donation campaigns, attracting tens of thousands of volunteers to donate over 10,000 units of blood.
