Sharing with students at the opening ceremony on the morning of October 30th, Mr. Luong The Phuc, Deputy Principal in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City Agricultural Technical College, said that this was the first time the opening ceremony of the school year was held in the auditorium of the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Zone.

Despite having only 41 students, the opening ceremony marked a significant turning point for the Ho Chi Minh City College of Agricultural Technology.
Although only 41 students have been admitted to the two majors, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, and crop cultivation and plant protection, these are the first students to be trained in this new phase with modern facilities, training programs, and laboratory systems.
In June 2025, the school will officially be under the management of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Zone Management Board. This is considered a strategic direction, helping to redefine the school's role in the supply chain of high-quality human resources for the city's and region's agricultural sector.
"The school went through a very difficult period, lacking in every aspect. In fact, for the past 12 years, the school hasn't acquired any additional equipment. Therefore, the change in management has helped the school 'revive' in every way," said Mr. Phuc happily.

New student Truong Tran Trong Nghia gave a speech expressing his feelings and presented a bouquet of flowers to the school's leaders.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Son, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Agricultural Zone, said that upon taking over the school, the management board paid close attention to directing and supervising the process, with top priority given to innovating student recruitment, communication, and developing a training plan for the 2026-2030 period.
Furthermore, the school's future direction is to strengthen cooperation with institutes and universities both domestically and internationally to enhance the value chain of human resource training, especially for scientists in the field of high-tech agriculture.
The Ho Chi Minh City College of Agricultural Technology, formerly the Agricultural Technical High School, was formed by merging the Agricultural High School and the Fisheries Technical Workers' School. To date, the school has nearly 50 years of development.
The school's peak enrollment period was in the 2000s. At that time, the school had over 3,000 students enrolled in intermediate-level programs and around 1,000 students in basic-level and short-term certificate programs each year; the dormitory with over 500 beds was always fully occupied.
