The 2023 Women's World Cup has kicked off for more than 3 weeks (from July 20) and only the 4 best teams in the semi-finals are England, Sweden, Australia and Spain. In today's and tomorrow's matches (August 16), 4 representatives from 4 countries will compete for tickets to the final match to compete for the most prestigious trophy in women's football.

The first semi-final will take place at 3pm today, with the Spanish women's team facing Sweden. In the world rankings, the Swedish women's team is ranked 3 places above Spain. However, this is not too big a gap and the two teams are considered by experts to be equally strong and will bring an exciting match because their attacking line is among the top in the tournament.
However, defeating two strong teams, the US and Japan, in the knockout round helped Sweden to be rated slightly higher.
In the other semi-final, European champions England will face host Australia at 5pm on August 16. The Three Lions are rated higher against the host. In the most recent World Cups, England have achieved high results, finishing in the top 3 and 4 in 2015 and 2019 respectively. On the contrary, after 3 consecutive seasons in the quarter-finals (2007, 2011, 2015), Australia has somewhat declined in the previous season when they were eliminated early in the round of 16.
However, the Australian women's team, with what they have shown recently, shows that they are not an easy opponent when supported by tens of thousands of spectators at Sydney Stadium.
