According to the preliminary list announced by the International Volleyball Federation, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team registered 16 athletes, including key players: Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Phuong and Dang Thi Hong.

With this list, the presence of Dang Thi Hong is the most surprising to experts and fans. At VTV Cup 2025, Dang Thi Hong is the Vietnamese athlete who scored the most points, surpassing her seniors Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Bich Tuyen. However, in the world arena, her modest height is a huge disadvantage for this player.

In the opposite setter position, the familiar names are Bich Tuyen and Hoang Thi Trinh; the middle blockers are Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy and Pham Thi Hien; the setters are Doan Thi Lam Oanh and Vo Thi Kim Thoa; the Liberos are Nguyen Khanh Dang, Luu Thi Ly Ly and Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh.

Currently, the pillars of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team are training to prepare for the two SEA V-League stages in early August, while the second team will participate in the Shanghai tournament. With the second place result in Group A, Nguyen Thi Phuong and her teammates will face U21 Canada in the quarterfinals of Shanghai Future Star 2025.

At the World Cup, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team was drawn into Group G with Poland, Germany and Kenya. This prestigious tournament took place from August 22 to September 7 in Thailand, with 32 participating countries.

According to experts, in a big playground like the World Cup, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will hardly make a surprise. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet himself does not focus too much on the results, but together with his students, they take the opportunity to learn, compete, and hope that the ticket to the world tournament will bring development opportunities for Vietnamese volleyball.

According to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet, Vietnamese volleyball must focus more on youth training, improve the quality of national championships, and make key and effective investments in the team, so that future achievements can be achieved more frequently.
