Celebrating the cities that are “shaping the future of humanity”
According to New7Wonders, “7 Wonders of Future Cities” is not simply a global vote, but a call for humanity: Honoring pioneering cities in sustainable development thinking, applying humanistic technology and innovation, where people, nature and technology come together to create the future.
“With ‘7 Wonders of the Future Cities,’ we are directing the gaze of all humanity toward the next chapter of civilization. These are cities that not only redefine how we live, but also how we coexist with nature, with technology, and with each other,” shared Bernard Weber, President and Founder of New7Wonders.
According to New7Wonders, in the era of global urbanization, every city has become a mirror reflecting what we believe. In particular, “wonders” are now not just massive structures, limited to stone and steel, but cities that breathe with nature, operate with human intelligence and emotions. These are places that turn sustainable thinking into a lifestyle, and turn technological achievements into happy energy for each resident.
"Humans can use their limited time on Earth to create lasting values. And only great ideas, cities that dare to be ahead of their time, can become legacies that remain forever after we leave," emphasized the founder of New7Wonders.
The "7 Wonders of the Future Cities" campaign, with its global nomination and voting system, officially launched on October 31, 2025. The nomination round will last for one year, followed by a global public voting period starting on October 31, 2026. The list of "7 Wonders of the Future Cities"—the "leading stars" of the 21st century—will be announced on October 31, 2027.
From Ha Long Bay to the desire for Vietnam's urban wonders
For Vietnamese people, the name New7Wonders evokes a proud milestone. In 2011, Ha Long Bay surpassed more than 400 global candidates to be honored as one of the “New 7 Natural Wonders” of the world. The victory was achieved thanks to hundreds of millions of votes from the international community and the solidarity of millions of Vietnamese hearts.
That victory not only affirms the majestic beauty of nature, but also proves that Vietnam can create wonders of human scale, when we believe together, act together and tell our story to the world.
Now, after more than a decade, Vietnam is entering a new chapter in its journey of creating wonders, not only with mountain ranges and bays, but also with future cities that are gradually taking shape: where green, smart, and humane urban areas become the “new identity” of the country.
The global landscape is changing. As humanity seeks sustainable development models, many Vietnamese cities are also undergoing significant transformations, moving towards a future that balances technology, nature, and people.
From Hanoi - a place that preserves heritage and innovates every day, to Ho Chi Minh City - the most dynamic city in Southeast Asia, or modern coastal cities such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Da Nang... are forming modern CBD areas of regional scale.
In particular, many new generation urban projects in Vietnam have begun to be built according to the ESG model (Environment - Society - Governance), aiming for a green economy and humane technology. These are the first seeds of a "future urban wonder" - where Vietnam can not only keep up with the world, but can also take the lead.
