Top schools use the results of the largest university entrance exam in the country

(Dan Tri) - 100 universities and colleges nationwide will use the results of this university entrance exam for admission in 2025.

On February 10, information from Ho Chi Minh City National University stated that by 2025, 100 universities and colleges nationwide will use the results of this unit's competency assessment exam for admission consideration.

In this list, there are 91 universities and 9 colleges. In addition to the member schools of Ho Chi Minh City National University, there are also a series of top universities in the country such as National Economics University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, Saigon University...

The Ho Chi Minh City National University's capacity assessment is considered the largest university entrance exam in the country for many years in terms of the number of candidates taking the exam and the number of schools using the results for admission.

The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University Competency Assessment Exam will take place in two rounds.

The first round of exams will be held in 25 provinces/cities on March 30. Results will be announced on April 16.

In the second round, candidates will register for the exam from April 17 to May 7. The exam is expected to take place in 11 provinces/cities on June 1. The results will be announced on June 16.

In 2015, the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test will be adjusted to suit the trend of candidates choosing diverse subjects in the 2018 general education program; ensuring fairness and creating opportunities to access higher education for all candidates.

Regarding the exam structure, the structure of the language and mathematics sections will be kept, while the number of questions in these two sections will be added to increase the reliability and discrimination of the exam.

The logic - data analysis and problem solving section is restructured into a scientific thinking section to assess candidates' ability in logic and scientific reasoning when solving real-life situations in the fields of science, technology, economics and society.

Questions in the scientific thinking section are constructed in the direction of providing information, data, facts, experimental planning, and experimental results, thereby requiring candidates to demonstrate their ability to understand and apply information, determine experimental results, and predict laws.

The 2025 competency assessment test still includes 120 objective multiple-choice questions with 150 minutes to complete and is taken on paper.

The test results are determined by modern multiple choice methods according to the question response theory. The score of each question has different weights depending on the difficulty of the question. The test score is converted according to each section.

The maximum score of the test is 1,200 points, in which the maximum score of each component of the test is shown on the score sheet including Vietnamese is 300 points, English is 300 points; mathematics is 300 points and scientific thinking is 300 points.
