A truly unique "first day of school," simple yet heartwarming, at the hospital. The loving colors instilled faith and hope in the children on their journey to recovery.
On September 5th, the art class, which has been maintained by the Social Work Department of Gia Dinh People's Hospital for nearly a year, reopened with the theme "Joyful to School". The children carefully colored their paintings of school, teachers, and friends, helping to alleviate their longing for their classrooms and somewhat ease their sadness at not being able to attend the opening ceremony like their peers.
On this occasion, the Social Work Department presented the children with small but loving gifts: notebooks, colored pencils, candies, milk, etc., to add joy and motivation to their treatment journey.
Nine-year-old NLMK (residing in Gia Dinh ward, Ho Chi Minh City) shared: "Today, I got to color drawings of my teachers and friends. I feel less homesick for class and also have joy on the first day of school."

On September 5th, Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Hanh, Deputy Head of the Social Work Department at Gia Dinh People's Hospital, stated that in addition to providing mental health care for patients, the hospital always pays attention to the children undergoing inpatient treatment. The regular drawing class, held on the first day of the new school year, is hoped to be a meaningful activity to boost morale, provide moments of relaxation and fun, and give the children an opportunity to unleash their creativity, explore the world of colors, and rediscover their smiles during their treatment.
"We hope that through this activity, the children will gain more joy, optimism, and a strong spirit to overcome the challenges in their treatment journey. At the same time, we also hope to continue receiving the support and cooperation of philanthropists to maintain and organize more meaningful activities for child patients," shared Ms. Bich Hanh.

Mr. NCM, the father of NLMK, said that although his child couldn't go to school like other children on the first day of the school year, the atmosphere here somewhat compensated for it, giving his child joy and the feeling of still being part of the first day of school.
"I was truly moved to see my child playing, being creative, and temporarily forgetting about his illness. My family is very grateful to the doctors, nurses, and philanthropists who have given the children such a special day," Mr. M shared.
