The prestigious travel magazine CN Traveler has just announced a list of 25 destinations that tourists should visit in 2025 across all 7 continents, including Ho Chi Minh City in Asia.
As for the country’s largest city, CN Traveller notes: This southern metropolis has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing tourism hubs, breaking pre-pandemic records at a high rate, and there’s no better time to visit than 2025. Exactly 50 years since reunification, Ho Chi Minh City is sure to host a number of major events, exhibitions and celebrations where visitors can join in the fun with the locals.

Domestic travelers will also benefit from Tan Son Nhat Airport’s Terminal 3, due to open in 2025; then there’s the Ho Chi Minh City Metro, which, despite repeated delays, is set to offer new trains next year. That’s not to mention the upcoming renovation of the city’s iconic Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera, and several other hotels are set to open soon, including IHG’s Hotel Indigo and the Kengo Kuma-designed Kempinski Saigon River. Beyond urban and tourism infrastructure, Ho Chi Minh City shines brightest as one of Southeast Asia’s cultural hubs – the region’s commercial, dining and fashion hub. On the shopping front, local brands like Fancì Club and Latui Atelier have in recent years been patronized by K-pop stars and Hollywood A-listers. Earlier, in 2023, the Michelin Guide, which first visited Vietnam, awarded the city's first star to Vietnamese restaurant Anan Saigon, which is owned by chef Peter Cuong Franklin. also recently opened a pho-focused spot, Pot Au Pho. Yet for all its newness and novelty, the city, known during the French colonial era as the "Pearl of the Far East," retains much of its old-world charm, from bustling markets to rustic street vendors selling noodles, rice rolls, banh mi, and more.
