Feast your eyes on drones painting light in the sky of Nha Trang

(Fatherland) - Thousands of drones painted light in the sky at the first competition night of the Nha Trang Bay Light Festival 2024, attracting a large number of locals and tourists to attend.

On the evening of July 13, at 2/4 Square, Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, the opening ceremony and the first performance night of the Nha Trang Bay Light Festival 2024 (EGN 2024) took place with the theme "Nha Trang Shines - Glamour Nha Trang". EGN 2024 is a drone light performance competition with the theme "Glorious Galaxy" organized by Khanh Hoa Province, the most prominent event of the year in the province, expected to attract the attention and participation of a large number of tourists and people at home and abroad.

Attending and speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong assessed that EGN 2024 is a practical and meaningful activity, with the participation of artists, lighting designers and art troupes from many countries, bringing wonderful experiences, impressive and memorable moments to people and tourists. “The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism acknowledges and commends the local government, sponsors, artists and all those who have contributed to organizing this festival. Hopefully, the festival will contribute to promoting tourism, economy and culture of Nha Trang to develop more and more, contributing to achieving the goal of welcoming and serving 9 million visitors as planned by Khanh Hoa province”, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong said.

The opening ceremony and the first night of competition attracted thousands of people and tourists in Khanh Hoa to flock to 2/4 Square, Nha Trang City to watch. The two Chinese and Korean teams used thousands of drones to perform for 15-20 minutes, combined with modern, vibrant music performances on stage to create a lively, attractive, and emotional overall picture...

The performance night opened with the words "EGN 2024" and symbols of Nha Trang such as Tram Huong Tower, Mountain Church, cable car,... from the Korean team.

In the competition, the team performed 1,000 drones with combined pyrotechnic technology (drone pyrotechnics), using modern, youthful, and dynamic background music.

Mr. Jake Lee, representative of the Korean team, shared that this was the first time the team performed abroad, even though they are leading in drone technology in the land of Kim Chi with 4 Guinness World Records for drones. "Nha Trang has very beautiful weather and space, suitable for organizing large-scale drone shows. We spent time researching the landscape of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa to bring the best performance to serve the people and tourists.

The Chinese team's performance began with an image of an "open" window, revealing mountains, birds,... followed by the words "Welcome to Nha Trang".

Familiar images of the Sea City such as coconut trees, cable cars, trains, etc. are recreated in the night sky. Coming to EGN 2024, the Chinese team used self-driving technology, which is easy to operate. "Coming to Nha Trang this time, in addition to bringing familiar images of Vietnam into the performance, we also brought images depicting the future of a world-class tourist destination," said Mr. Sean Cai, representative of the Chinese team.

The Chinese team’s performance ended with the words “Nha Trang Loves You”. On the evening of July 20, the second competition night between the French and UAE teams and the closing ceremony will be held at Vinpearl Harbour (Hon Tre Island, Nha Trang City).
