Manulife pays 4.5 billion VND to 3 customers in mini apartment fire

Accordingly, on September 15, through the local Fatherland Front agency - Khuong Dinh ward, the Vietnam Insurance Association representing insurance companies presented 300 million VND to the victims of the mini apartment fire in Khuong Ha, sharing some of the loss and pain of the affected families.

It is known that insurance companies, including life and non-life insurance, are actively and urgently reviewing the list of victims to provide timely support. In particular, Manulife Vietnam Life Insurance Company has completed the quick payment procedure for a family whose relative unfortunately passed away in the fire on September 15, and completed the payment for 2 other cases on September 18. The total payment amount is estimated at about 4.5 billion VND. The company is also continuing to work to verify the status of the remaining customers to support the fastest payment if any.

Previously, General Director of Vietnam Social Security Nguyen The Manh also signed an urgent dispatch to Hanoi Social Security directing support for families at the rate of 3 million VND/deceased person, 2 million VND/injured person, drawn from the industry's centralized welfare fund.

According to the report of the Hanoi Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the city has also provided direct cash support at the rate of: 37,000,000 VND/person who died and 12,400,000 VND/person who was injured. For children, the city's Children's Support Fund provided an additional 5 million VND/child who died and 10 million VND/child who was injured and had to be treated in hospital.

In addition, the city supports students, workers, and laborers renting apartments with 1.5 million VND/person/month for 6 months; supports all hospital expenses for those injured in the fire; supports money to buy books and school supplies for children of families affected by the fire, at the rate of 5 million VND/child.
