Blockchain and especially artificial intelligence (AI) are great opportunities for Vietnam to advance on the world digital economic map. Blockchain and AI have been reshaping the digital economy and are the keys to opening up international career paths for the young generation. Mastering this technology will help students gain a competitive advantage in the labor market.
The above is the comment of Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Principal of the School of Technology - National Economics University at the ABAII Unitour 14 event with the theme "Blockchain and AI: Mastering technology, mastering the future" co-organized by the Institute of Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence (ABAII), Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) and National Economics University on the evening of October 17.
Delegates discuss opportunities and challenges facing the rapid development of AI
The discussion at the event also provided perspectives on the current debated issue of AI development, whether AI is a companion or an adversary in the labor market. Mr. Le Linh Luong, Deputy Director of the Institute of Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence, said that AI brings both opportunities and challenges.
According to Mr. Luong, for those who know how to grasp and master AI, it is an opportunity. On the contrary, it will be a challenge for those who are slow to change. "We must grasp the advantages and limit the disadvantages so that AI becomes an effective tool, serving good purposes in learning, working and contributing to socio-economic development," Mr. Luong acknowledged.
Through synthesizing information sources, the Institute of Blockchain Technology and Artificial Intelligence said that workers of all ages are tending to accept and use AI as an indispensable learning and working tool with an application rate of 73-85%.
AI is also being widely applied in many other fields such as supply chain, mathematics with advanced technologies such as self-driving cars and smart warehouse management systems, helping to completely change the way these traditional industries operate.
Regarding the negative aspects of AI, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung, General Director of VVN AI Technology JSC, said that the rapid development of AI is posing requirements for compliance with AI ethics and community standards.
At the same time, avoid abusing AI for bad purposes such as using deepfake (fake images, high-quality voices) to commit fraud or impersonate identities. Mr. Tung also encouraged students to seize career development opportunities in the field of providing identification and cybersecurity solutions to deal with these risks.
When referring to concerns about AI replacing humans, Dr. Luong Van Thien, Lecturer at the Faculty of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, School of Technology - National Economics University, said that AI will replace many repetitive jobs, especially in the service industry, but at the same time open up new career opportunities that have never appeared before.
Some opinions also say that AI will not completely replace humans but mainly supplement and enhance human labor capacity in many fields by partially automating tasks in industries...
