TYM's "Giving Opportunities - Creating Change" Model

Over the years, the Tinh Thuong Microfinance Organization (TYM) Thanh Hoa Branch has created conditions for many customers to access and use preferential policy loans effectively. From there, TYM customers have capital to invest in developing production, small business, increasing income, improving quality of life, and escaping poverty.

As one of TYM’s customers, participating in the “Business Development for Female Small, Micro and Household Business Owners” contest within the framework of the “Grow My Business” Project co-organized by TYM, Ms. Cao Thi Phuong Thao in Quang Giap Quarter, Sam Son Ward surpassed many other creative ideas to win the “Business Development” prize in the first round, with a prize worth 10 million VND. This is a clear demonstration of the journey of efforts to rise up of Thanh Hoa women.

It is known that more than a year ago, her "secondhand" clothing store was quite modest, small in scale, not diverse in goods, sales mainly relied on regular customers around the neighborhood. In 2024, she decided to join TYM Thanh Hoa Branch, Transaction Office No. 02 and borrowed 50 million VND to invest in expanding her business. With this capital, she boldly imported more quality goods, diverse in designs and renovated the store space. Along with that, she quickly grasped the trend of online sales on social networks, especially Facebook, to bring products closer to customers everywhere. Friendly and close livestreams helped her quickly create a stable customer base and revenue increased steadily every month.

“Before, I simply thought of doing small business to supplement my income. But thanks to TYM, I learned how to make a business plan, manage cash flow and dare to think bigger. Now, I want to open another store, aiming to build a brand of environmentally friendly reusable clothing,” Ms. Thao shared.

In Minh Cat neighborhood, Sam Son ward, the bustling sounds of familiar sewing machines echo in a small house, which is also one of TYM's customers with the journey of constant efforts of a hard-working woman, boldly rising from her own hands. In 2022, Ms. Vu Thi Binh in Minh Cat neighborhood decided to join TYM Thanh Hoa Branch, Transaction Office No. 02, with the desire to have more capital to expand production scale. Thanks to TYM's support of a loan of 50 million VND, she invested in more machinery, raw materials and hired a few more local workers to open a sewing workshop. From the initial old sewing machines, her sewing workshop now has 15 sewing machines operating regularly, specializing in processing garments for domestic and foreign companies. The work is steady all year round, helping her have a stable source of income, while creating jobs for dozens of women in the neighborhood.

“Previously, I only received retail goods and had an unstable income. Thanks to TYM's capital support and guidance on financial management, I was able to invest in more machinery, receive many large orders, and have more trust from customers,” Ms. Binh said excitedly.

The story of Ms. Thao or Ms. Binh is a testament to the effectiveness of micro-capital in changing the mindset of economic development, knowing how to plan production, balance costs, and find long-term partners. Thanks to that, the business activities of TYM customers are increasingly stable, the products produced are of high quality, meeting the strict requirements of the ordering businesses. This is a symbol of the spirit of daring to change, daring to start a business of TYM customers in the new era, when given to the right hands, for the right purpose, and becoming a strong motivation to help women confidently start a business, take control of the economy and rise out of poverty sustainably.

Accordingly, from the beginning of 2025 to now, the office has disbursed more than 100 billion VND; outstanding loans reached 75.9 billion VND; savings balance reached more than 39 billion VND.
