An unlicensed school has enrolled students.

(NLDO) - Although not licensed to operate education , Brooklyn Primary and Secondary School, located in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, still advertises enrollment and has students enrolled.

The Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper received feedback from a number of residents on Hoang Du Khuong Street, Ward 12, District 10 about a recent incident in which a school in the area hung a banner advertising student recruitment right at the beginning of the street, even though the school's name was "very strange".

Ms. PL, a teacher at a secondary school in District 10 who lives in the area, said that when she saw the advertising banner and went to the school's location, she found that this location was previously an old industrial sewing factory and was then rented to another school. It is now Brooklyn Primary - Secondary School.

According to Ms. L., when passing by, the school's facilities seemed to be completed but there was no activity, security guards and staff were bustling about. "However, the neighborhood security guard next door said that there were students in the school but not many" - Ms. L. informed.

A parent living in District 10 said that when they saw the advertisement, they wanted to find out more about the school and apply for their child to attend it, because it was close to home. However, when they looked up information online, they could not find any information about the school.

Brooklyn Primary and Secondary School on Hoang Du Khuong Street, District 10

On the afternoon of December 9, confirming with Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Head of the Department of Education and Training of District 10, said that Brooklyn Primary and Secondary School does not have an educational operation license. "According to the school's plan, the school is expected to officially operate next school year," Mr. Trung informed. The leader of the Department of Education and Training of District 10 also said that the ward has invited the school's investor to work.

According to the investigation of the reporter of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, the investor of Brooklyn Primary and Secondary School is Thoi Dai Moi Education Investment Company Limited. However, according to Decision No. 5855 dated October 28, 2024 of the People's Committee of District 10, Thoi Dai Moi Education Investment Company Limited is the investor of Suoi Linh Primary and Secondary School (located on Hoang Du Khuong Street, District 10). However, the enrollment announcement banner at the beginning of the street and in front of the school is named Brooklyn.
