Napoli will open the door for Garnacho to escape from MU - the team that wants to push him away because of conflicts with head coach Ruben Amorim at the end of last season.

The Serie A champions, who had a £40m bid rejected in January, are now hoping to sign Garnacho for around £50m.

The 20-year-old striker is one of five players United want to offload this summer. Manager Amorim has asked Garnacho to stay away from first-team training ahead of the new season until his future is decided.

The Manchester club value the young Argentine at £70m, but they know they will be hard pressed to get a high fee, given the public feud between Garnacho and Amorim.

MU is still actively negotiating with Napoli, hoping to soon reach a transfer agreement. Coach Conte wants to strengthen his staff, after signing Kevin de Bruyne.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis believes Garnacho will improve further if he leaves Old Trafford. He expressed: "Garnacho possesses speed, potential and sophistication.

We wanted him because Garnacho was suffering at United. If he left, the young striker would be twice as good. There were mistakes at Old Trafford that I cannot explain."

Last summer, Napoli brought McTominay from MU and the Scottish international shone brightly, being voted Serie A Player of the Year for the 2024/25 season.

That fate is pushing the Italian champions to recruit Garnacho, in the context of Osimhen's deal to Galatasaray for 75 million euros is about to be completed.
