On October 26, Road Management Area III said that a serious landslide had just occurred on the Ho Chi Minh Highway through Da Nang city with an estimated volume of more than 2,400 m³ of earth and rock.
Specifically, at around 10 a.m. the same day, at locations Km1403+00 and Km1406+600 (in Phuoc Nang commune), rocks and soil from the positive slope suddenly slid down onto the road surface, causing the entire route to be completely blocked.
Immediately after receiving the news, the road management and maintenance unit mobilized vehicles, mechanical equipment and human resources to urgently go to the scene to carry out repair work.
However, due to continued heavy rain, rocks and soil from the positive slope continued to slide down, making it difficult to clear and ensure the safety of construction workers.
According to Road Management Area III, vehicles and workers have been mobilized to quickly clear the dirt and rocks. It is expected that by about 5:00 p.m. the same day, the unit will make efforts to clear one lane of Ho Chi Minh Road.
During this time, the Traffic Police force will coordinate with the route management unit to organize checkpoints, remote traffic diversion, and guide vehicles to move along alternative routes to avoid congestion and ensure safety for people and vehicles./.
