Prolonged rain and strong floodwaters have washed away the Phu Kieng wooden bridge across the Cai River connecting the two banks in Vinh Ngoc commune. The bridge is made of wood, 3m wide, nearly 400m long, connecting Xuan Ngoc, Hon Nghe 1, Hon Nghe 2 villages with 5 other villages in the commune, but was washed away, forcing people to take a detour 10 times longer.

Mr. Le Van My, Chairman of Vinh Ngoc Commune People's Committee, said that on the afternoon of November 15, the local government did not allow people to cross the wooden bridge to ensure safety. At the same time, the commune asked people to raise their belongings and prepare for evacuation and emergency response situations because of the possibility of rising water. Photo: Quoc Bao.
