According to Nikkei Asia , among the delegates attending were dozens of Defense Ministers and Military Commanders, along with the Vice President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building in Asia (CICA), Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO)...
Representatives of international and regional organizations, including the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the European Union (EU), also attended. According to the organizers, the US Department of Defense led a delegation to the Xiangshan Forum.
The Xiangshan Forum is organized annually by the China Association of Military Science, and is officially called the Asia-Pacific Regional Security and International Security Cooperation Forum.
This year is the 11th year that China has hosted the Forum, taking place from September 12-14 with the theme "Building Peace and Sharing the Future Together".
Within the framework of the event, there will be 4 plenary sessions discussing many topics, including "Security cooperation, prosperity and stability in Asia-Pacific".
In addition, the Forum also held 8 group discussions on issues such as “ASEAN and the Security Architecture of the Asia-Pacific” and “Maintaining Security in Northeast Asia”.
The high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attending the 11th Huong Son Forum was led by General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense.
