In the 2023-2024 school year, the city's education quality achieved many outstanding and comprehensive results.

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of August 22, the Department of Education and Training held a conference to summarize the 2023-2024 school year and deploy tasks for the 2024-2025 school year. Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam attended.

In the 2023-2024 school year, the city's education scale continues to be stable and strongly developed. The city currently has 756 educational institutions with nearly 14,500 classes, 421 foreign language centers, foreign language facilities, information technology, life skills, extracurricular activities, study abroad consulting, 217 community learning centers. The whole sector has 27,298 managers, teachers, and staff; nearly 528,000 students. Also in this school year, 44 schools were recognized as meeting national standards, bringing the total number of schools meeting national standards to 475/648 schools, reaching a rate of 73.3%, an increase of 6.2% compared to the 2022-2023 school year.

The Ministry of Education and Training awarded the Emulation Flag to the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training for its achievements in the emulation movement of Innovation in management, teaching and learning.

Collectives and individuals were awarded Emulation Flags and rewards by the City People's Committee.

In particular, Hai Phong continues to affirm its leading position in the country in national and international excellent student competitions with 4 students winning 5 medals in regional and international Olympic competitions; 98 national excellent student awards at high school level, ranking 3rd nationwide; 2 projects won first prize in the national science and technology competition and were selected to participate in international competitions.

Mass education maintained stable results. In the 2024 high school graduation exam, Hai Phong ranked 6th in the country in terms of average test scores, reaching 7.15 points; the graduation rate reached 99.66%, with 01 student achieving national valedictorian status in group B... Along with that, the city successfully hosted and organized the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival, the Hai Phong Student Athletes Team excellently won 3rd place nationwide.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of teachers, education managers, schools, students and pupils in the past school year. At the same time, he affirmed that the outstanding results of the Education and Training sector have contributed positively to the economic and social development of the city.

Emphasizing the direction at the Conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Khac Nam stated that the new school year 2024-2025 is a year of extremely important significance, deciding the successful implementation and completion of the Resolution of the 16th Congress of the City Party Committee, the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Party. This is also the school year in which the 2018 General Education Program is deployed in all grades from Grade 1 to Grade 12 and is also the first school year to organize the High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 General Education Program. Therefore, the Vice Chairman requested the Education sector to focus on advising and organizing the implementation of Conclusion No. 91-KL/TW of the Politburo on fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training, ensuring effectiveness and practicality. Review the targets and tasks in the field of education and training in the Resolution of the 16th Congress of the City Party Committee, assess the current situation and the ability to complete the targets in this term. Advise the City People's Committee on policies and mechanisms in the field of education and training in the direction of ensuring autonomy and self-responsibility. Consolidate and firmly maintain the results of universalizing preschool education for 5-year-old children, universalizing primary education, universalizing lower secondary education, eliminating illiteracy and gradually striving to achieve higher standards to improve the quality of education. Effectively implement the General Education Program for all classes, especially for Grades 5, 9 and 12. Along with that, carry out well the work of policy consultation, develop a team of teachers with capacity and qualities, meeting the requirements of international integration and the 4.0 industrial revolution, develop a team of teachers who not only provide knowledge but also inspire students to learn.

The Vice Chairman also noted that in 2025, the 2018 General Education Program will be implemented in all grades from grade 1 to grade 12 and will also be the first year to organize the High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 General Education Program. Therefore, the Department of Education and Training will coordinate with departments and branches to advise the City People's Committee on organizing the Exam to ensure quality, safety, seriousness, efficiency, practicality, compactness, reduce pressure, and create the most favorable conditions for students; promptly advise on the enrollment plan for Grade 10 in 2025 to ensure suitability.

On this occasion, 24 teachers of the city were honored to be awarded the title of "Excellent Teacher" by the State; Hai Phong Department of Education and Training received the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Education and Training; the Chairman of the City People's Committee awarded the Emulation Flag of the City People's Committee to the Department of Secondary Education (Department of Education and Training); the title of "Excellent Labor Collective" to 3 collectives under the Department of Education and Training; at the same time, Certificates of Merit were awarded to many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution 29-NQ/TW of the 11th Party Central Committee, emulation movements, and excellent completion of tasks from 2022 to 2023./.
