10th grade male student suspected of being beaten by 8th grade student, causing broken arm and head injury

(Dan Tri) - A 10th grade male student in Dak Lak was hospitalized with a head injury and a broken right hand. His family filed a complaint alleging that he was beaten with an iron rod by an 8th grade student.

On the evening of February 21, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Principal of Vo Nguyen Giap High School, Ea Kar District, Dak Lak, confirmed that a 10th grade male student of the school was beaten to the point of having to be hospitalized for treatment.

According to Mr. Dung, the victim was PVD (16 years old, residing in Vu Bon commune, Krong Pak district). D. is a new student transferred to Vo Nguyen Giap High School from the second semester of this school year.

Mr. Dung shared: "I just received information from the student's family and the school sent the homeroom teacher to the hospital to visit and grasp the details. D.'s family discussed that he was beaten by an 8th grade student in Vu Bon commune to the point of being hospitalized. However, the case is being investigated by the police and there is no official conclusion yet."

Vu Bon Commune Police are verifying the case of a 10th grade student being beaten in the area, resulting in injuries requiring treatment.

According to the report sent to the police by Ms. T. (37 years old, D.’s mother), at around 9:00 p.m. on February 19, D. was attacked by a group of four students on bicycles while walking on the street. One of them, a male student in grade 8, hit D. in the head with an iron rod. When hit, D. used his hand to block the attack and suffered a broken arm.

Ms. T. has requested the authorities to intervene and handle the case strictly according to the law.

Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Dr. Bui Khac Hung, Director of Krong Pak District Medical Center, said that the unit received a PVD patient due to head trauma and hand fracture.

"When patient D. was injured, his family took him to a hospital in Buon Ma Thuot city to have his wound stitched and bandaged at night. Then, he was transferred to the Krong Pak District Medical Center for further treatment. The patient was discharged from the hospital to continue monitoring at home," Dr. Hung informed.
