On the evening of August 29, a source from Dan Tri reporter said that Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) is treating a young man who had a rare and serious accident while flying a kite.
The patient's name is K. (born in 1989, from Vinh Long ). According to initial information, on the evening of August 28, Mr. K. was flying a kite in Tan Vinh Loc commune (HCMC) when the kite string got tangled in his right hand.
The rope then dragged the patient a distance, hitting his head against the fence, causing a wound to his left eyelid, then severing and causing his right hand to fly away. The patient then went to two medical facilities, before being taken to Cho Ray Hospital.
Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, said that the patient was admitted to Cho Ray Hospital at 8:22 p.m. on August 28 with his right hand severed and bandaged, but the severed part of the hand was still not found at that time.

At the Emergency Department, the patient was examined and invited to consult with the Orthopedic Traumatology and Ophthalmology departments. After that, the patient was assigned to reconstruct the amputated stump and suture the wound of the left eyelid.
In the operating room, the patient underwent right wrist amputation, followed by a closed drain and left eyelid suture. Currently, the patient's vital signs are stable and are being monitored.
As reported, regarding the above incident, according to the leader of Tan Vinh Loc Commune People's Committee, the initial cause came from the victim flying a kite while it was windy.
On the morning of August 29, the victim's hand was found near the intersection of 6B - Lai Hung Cuong. On Lai Hung Cuong Street, there is an empty lot where many people often come to fly kites in the afternoon.
