Russia is making efforts to boost exports of non-resource, non-energy goods to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on energy exports. The export volume of these goods increased by 6% in the first 9 months of this year, reaching 111.4 billion USD. The prospects for exporting Russian goods with a market expansion strategy were discussed at the International Export Forum "Made in Russia" recently held in Moscow.
Non-resource, non-energy exports, with the main commodities being industrial and agricultural products, accounted for more than 12% of Russia's GDP in the first half of 2025. Russia is successfully reorienting the market, moving towards the goal of non-energy exports growing by 70% by 2030 compared to 2020.
Ms. Veronika Nikishina - General Director of the Russian Export Center said: "One-third of the world's grain is from Russia, one-third of the world's nuclear reactors are from Russia, one-quarter of the world's vegetable oil exports come from Russia. One in 10 passenger cars in the world is from Russia. We have good statistics on export growth in high value-added industries."
Friendly markets, including Asia, are identified as the focus of Russia's export strategy. In 2024, the share of Asian and African countries in Russia's agricultural exports will reach 74% for the first time. At the International Export Forum, businesses discussed practical steps to develop trade and localize products.
Mr. Ilya Koltygin - Chief Representative of the Russian Export Center in Vietnam shared: "Our biggest task is to expand the presence of Russian goods in the region. Steps to implement this strategy have been and are being taken, with the goal of opening as many stores as possible with "made in Russia" products in Vietnam".
As a state organization supporting the export of non-resource and non-energy goods, the Russian Export Center is focusing on building the national brand "Made in Russia". In the 10 years since its establishment, the Center has supported 72,500 Russian enterprises, helping to conduct foreign trade transactions with a total value of more than 160 billion USD.
Russia's national project "International Cooperation and Export" aims to increase non-resource and non-energy exports to over $248 billion by 2030. The project's goal is not only to increase the volume of Russian goods on foreign markets, but also to strengthen Russia's image as a supplier of high-quality goods and services.
