The head of the Kiev regional military administration said rocket fragments had also fallen in other parts of the Ukrainian capital, causing injuries and damage, but did not provide details.

In Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine, a guided bomb caused a fire and killed a delivery driver outside a warehouse on Sunday. Regional governor Oleh Synehubov said nine others were injured.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a Telegram post, said Russia had used more than 800 guided bombs on Ukrainian targets in the past week. He continued to call on the West to provide more and better weapons systems.

Meanwhile, on the eastern front of Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the country's army had gained control of two more residential areas, Spornoye and Novoaleksandrovka, in the Donetsk region.

The Russian Defense Ministry further reported that the Russian military hit a train carrying weapons, military equipment and soldiers of the 117th Ukrainian Brigade during unloading.

On the southern Ukrainian front, Russian Governor Vladimir Saldo said fighting in the Kherson region was now taking place on the archipelago as Ukrainian troops were withdrawn from the left bank of the region.

"The fighting has shifted to the islands, with Russian troops stepping up their operations. The enemy has been driven from the left bank" of the Dnipro River, where the two sides have been fighting fiercely for months, he added.
