The Russian Defense Ministry announced on January 14 that Russia's Zapad Task Force had killed up to 600 Ukrainian soldiers and taken control of the Terny settlement in Donetsk, according to Sputnik News Agency.

The Russian Defense Ministry also announced that the Russian Yug Task Force had gained more advantageous positions, while the Ukrainian armed forces lost more than 220 soldiers and four armored vehicles.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Tsentr Task Force has improved its positions along the front line and destroyed up to 500 Ukrainian servicemen and an armored fighting vehicle. The ministry also announced that Russian air defense systems shot down six ATACMS missiles, six Storm Shadow missiles and 31 UAVs launched by Ukraine over Russia's Bryansk region and the Black Sea. The ATACMS were supplied to Ukraine by the United States and the Storm Shadow by the United Kingdom.

Additionally, two air-launched Storm Shadow missiles were shot down over the Black Sea, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry confirmed that no Russians were killed or injured in the operations.

Meanwhile, Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of Russia's Belgorod region, wrote on the Telegram messaging app on January 14 that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had attacked eight districts in the region, launching 73 artillery shells and 40 UAVs in 24 hours, forcing four people to seek medical help after the attacks, according to TASS.

As of the evening of January 14, there was no information about the reaction of Ukraine, the US and the UK to the above accusations and statements from Russia.

Nikolai Patrushev, an adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, said on January 14 that only Russia and the United States should participate in any negotiations on resolving the Ukraine issue.

"I believe that negotiations on Ukraine should be conducted between Russia and the United States without the participation of other Western countries. There is nothing to discuss with London and Brussels," Mr. Patrushev told Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, according to Reuters.

As of the evening of January 14, there was no information about the reaction of the US or Ukraine to Mr. Patrushev's statement.
