Regarding payments, the State Bank of Vietnam has just issued a warning urging people to be vigilant against various forms of fraud in the banking sector.
Accordingly, recently, high-tech crimes and financial fraud through electronic channels have been on the rise, with many sophisticated methods such as: impersonating banks to send messages, distributing fake links/QR codes, impersonating police or court agencies, scamming people with "easy jobs with high salaries" from abroad, or using AI/deepfake technology to steal personal information and assets.
The Payment Department of the State Bank of Vietnam recommends that people do not provide confidential information (passwords, OTPs, card numbers, CVVs, biometrics) to anyone under any circumstances. Do not access or scan links, QR codes, or applications from unknown sources. Always check and verify information through the bank's official channels (website, application, call center).

The State Bank of Vietnam warns of the latest scam tactics.
People are also advised to proactively protect their accounts, such as: changing passwords regularly, enabling balance change alerts, and setting transfer limits. If suspicious activity is detected, contact the bank's hotline or the police immediately. Be wary of offers of super-high returns on investments or overseas jobs to avoid falling into "cross-border scams"...
"The State Bank of Vietnam, in coordination with credit institutions, will continue to implement technical, legal, and communication solutions to combat high-tech crime. The vigilance and cooperation of the people are key factors in preventing this problem," the agency's announcement stated.
According to reporters from the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper , in recent times, authorities and commercial banks have continuously updated and warned about the fraudulent tactics of high-tech criminals. Despite this, many people are still being deceived and losing money from their accounts.
