Preparing human resources for the new era
The dynamism of Vietnam's socio -economy is creating profound changes in the labor market.
Notably, the national legal framework is undergoing a strong reform process, with the National Assembly having just passed nine new laws and a series of other draft laws being urgently completed for approval in the coming time.
Along with that, a series of important laws such as the Law on Value Added Tax (VAT) 2024, the Law on Social Insurance (SI) 2024 and the decrees and circulars guiding their implementation will take effect from July 1, 2025, requiring businesses to have a team of professional staff.
According to Master of Law Trinh Huu Chung, Vice Principal of Gia Dinh University (GDU), the "wave" of new policies is opening an era full of challenges but also full of opportunities for the law and accounting industries.
Mr. Chung commented: "With changes in the legal framework, especially in the fields of tax, contracts, investment and emerging issues such as e-commerce, digital finance, personal data, cyberspace, the need for experts with legal knowledge becomes more necessary than ever."
Attorney Chung cited the example of implementing the 2024 Value Added Tax Law, businesses will need legal and accounting staff with in-depth knowledge of taxes to advise businesses on compliance with regulations, dispute resolution or optimizing tax obligations.
In addition, legal experts specializing in corporate law, investment, real estate, e-commerce, digital finance or intellectual property... will also have many opportunities when business activities become more vibrant.
However, in addition to the wide-open opportunities, lawyers, accountants, and legal experts must continuously improve and update their knowledge to provide accurate advice, ensure compliance, and avoid risks for their organizations.

Universities also have to "keep up" with the market.
Based on market reality, universities, especially those with strengths in training in law, accounting, and finance such as Gia Dinh University, are accelerating curriculum innovation, integrating industry practices, and continuously updating new legal documents.
According to Master of Law Trinh Huu Chung, the work of accountants today has undergone a strong transformation, from simply recording books to using digital platforms to process electronic invoices, prepare financial reports and communicate with tax authorities.
In addition to ensuring compliance with legal regulations, the role of accountants is gradually becoming that of business strategists, helping to analyze data and make business decisions.
This is especially important in the context of new tax regulations requiring higher accuracy and compliance. Accountants need to be equipped with the ability to read, understand and deeply analyze financial data to provide valuable advice to help businesses develop sustainably.
According to Vietnam's labor market statistics, accounting is the second industry in the group of 5 key positions that businesses prioritize recruiting.

Associate Professor Dr. Bui Kim Hieu, Head of the Faculty of Social Sciences and International Languages, GDU, said: "The school focuses on training students not only through theory, but also through practical activities such as seminars, workshops, and simulations of industry situations.
We aim to develop in students critical thinking, lifelong learning and the ability to apply knowledge to solve real-world problems."
In fact, in addition to the training program, tuition fees are also a major concern for many people in the journey of choosing a school.
