Attending the meeting, on the Armenian side were Mr. Suren Baghdasaryan - Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Vietnam; Mr. Rudik Yaralyan - Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Vietnam. On the Vietnamese side, there was Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quan said: Vietnam and Armenia have a long-standing, traditional friendship since Armenia was one of the republics of the former Soviet Union. Armenia has trained many experts in various fields for Vietnam, many of whom hold important positions in Vietnamese state agencies.
During the official visit to the Republic of Armenia by National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training had a working session with Mr. Martirosyan Artur - Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia. At the meeting, Deputy Minister Martirosyan Artur emphasized the desire to restore cooperative relations with Vietnam in the coming time.
During the working trip, the Vietnamese delegation visited the Youth Technology Innovation Center (TUMO) - a free education center that helps young people self-study and improve their qualifications. Expressing interest in this model, Deputy Minister Le Quan suggested that the Armenian side consider the possibility of cooperating with Vietnamese partners to open a branch of the Center in Vietnam.
In 2019, the two governments signed an agreement on educational and scientific cooperation. In order for the agreement to be effective in the coming time, Deputy Minister Le Quan proposed to continue to closely coordinate in implementing the contents of the agreement, encourage and support exchange programs for researchers, lecturers, and students; and develop joint research projects.

Continue to exchange relevant information to determine the equivalence of degrees awarded by educational institutions of each side, as well as facilitate the recognition of degrees; encourage and support research and teaching of languages, literature, and history at educational institutions of the two sides.
The Deputy Minister suggested that the two sides have a plan to effectively use the scholarship quota signed under the 2019 Agreement; and suggested that the Armenian side consider increasing promotion and introduction to provide information about the country, culture and education of Armenia to Vietnamese candidates.
Expressing his pleasure to visit and work at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education and Training, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan affirmed that the good traditional friendship between Vietnam and Armenia is still maintained and strengthened.
Sharing information about higher education in Armenia, about famous universities such as the National University of Armenia, Yerevan Medical University, Mr. Mnatsakan Safaryan hopes that in the coming time, he will attract Vietnamese students to study, contributing to strengthening the good friendship between the two countries and two peoples.
Deputy Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan agreed with Deputy Minister Le Quan's proposals and affirmed that Armenia always attaches importance to and wishes to promote cooperation with Vietnam in many fields, especially in the field of education and training.
