According to this decision, Hanoi Pedagogical University II was relocated from its evacuation site to Xuan Hoa town, Phuc Yen, Vinh Phu (now Xuan Hoa ward, Phu Tho province). As one of the first faculties of the University, after 50 years of construction and development, the Faculty of Literature has achieved many accomplishments, becoming a reputable institution in training and developing literature teachers for the whole country.
By 2025, the Faculty will have trained approximately 15,000 full-time students and retrained and provided professional development for nearly 20,000 preschool, primary, secondary, and high school teachers, lecturers, and education administrators for many provinces and cities nationwide. Many of these students and lecturers have become excellent managers for the country and the education sector, outstanding teachers, excellent lecturers, writers, poets, journalists, and talented entrepreneurs.
According to Associate Professor Bui Minh Duc, throughout its 50-year history, the Faculty of Literature has been one of the pioneering units of Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 in opening and developing new majors.
From its early days of training students in the single-major of Literature Education, the Faculty gradually expanded to include Bachelor's degree programs in Literature and Vietnamese Studies at the undergraduate level. From having only one Master's program, the Faculty now offers six Master's programs, with four research-oriented and two application-oriented.
In particular, the Faculty has opened a doctoral program in Literary Theory and has become one of the specialized units with a large scale and training programs at all three levels/systems: undergraduate, master's, and doctoral. Notably, all undergraduate and master's programs of the Faculty have undergone external evaluation and been awarded national educational quality accreditation certificates, including the UPM 4-star Plus certification - becoming one of the pioneering units nationwide to be awarded accreditation for its entire master's program in the field of Literature.
In line with the integration trend of the Education sector and the University, the Faculty of Literature has signed cooperation agreements with the Vietnam Writers Association, the Vietnam Literature Museum, and many businesses, training institutions, travel agencies, hotels, etc., to create a professional practice environment for students, especially those majoring in Vietnamese Studies. At the same time, the alumni network has become an important bridge. Many alumni have returned to the Faculty to participate in teaching, training, and exchanging professional experience.

To achieve the aforementioned accomplishments, the Faculty has always prioritized the development of its staff, especially its lecturers. This has been a crucial political task that the Faculty has valued for the past 50 years. For half a century, it has become a tradition for the Faculty of Literature to strengthen its activities, including seminars, inviting leading experts to teach, and exchanging academic expertise, thereby training and developing its staff.
Currently, the Faculty has 30 staff members, including 4 Associate Professors, 20 PhDs, and 5 Master's degree holders. Associate Professors and PhDs account for 80% of the faculty. The faculty consists of reputable researchers in various fields: Linguistics, Literary Theory, and Methods of Teaching Literature. Many of the lecturers are Literature experts from the Ministry of Education and Training, and serve as editors and authors of Literature textbooks for junior and senior high schools.
Speaking of the 50-year history of the Faculty of Literature, it's impossible not to mention the generations of undergraduates, graduate students, and doctoral candidates. Since its establishment, the students of the Faculty of Literature have always been individuals full of courage and determination, brimming with aspirations and passion, both intellectual and romantic. They are not only proficient in their field but also dynamic, creative, highly adaptable, and most importantly, wherever they live or whatever profession they pursue, they always maintain the character of a Faculty of Literature graduate: humanism and kindness.
From the Faculty of Literature, many students have grown and become useful citizens and capable professionals, making positive contributions to the development of the country…

Students have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the works, experience the joy of learning, experience the stage, and cultivate a love for culture and art.
People's Artist Tran Luc hopes and believes that in the future, LucTeam Theatre will have many more opportunities to work with the teachers and students of the Faculty of Literature on projects with greater depth.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Phung Gia The – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council – suggested that in the coming time, the Faculty of Literature should continue to focus on improving the quality of training and building a team of lecturers. He emphasized the need to equip lecturers with foreign language and information technology skills to meet the teaching requirements of the new era; and at the same time develop training programs and open more majors in the social sciences and humanities such as culture, journalism, communication, tourism, etc.
Associate Professor Phung Gia The also suggested that the Faculty should promote scientific research, international cooperation, and increase the number of publications in prestigious international journals; focus resources on serving the community in the spirit of "Courage - Dynamism - Creativity," spreading humanitarian values; expand career guidance and entrepreneurship programs; and strengthen connections and develop the alumni network of the Faculty and the University in the future.
