On behalf of Hanoi National University of Education 2, there were: Associate Professor, Dr. Phung Gia The - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council; Dr. Cao Ba Cuong - Vice Principal of the school; Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Minh Duc - Head of the Faculty of Literature; and generations of staff, lecturers, scientists who have taught and worked at the school; generations of former students; teachers and students who are teaching and studying at the Faculty of Literature.


Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Minh Duc - Head of the Faculty of Literature said that on October 11, 1975, the Minister of Education signed Decision No. 872/QD on "reforming and building Hanoi National University of Education I and Hanoi National University of Education II so that each school is complete with faculties for training social science teachers and faculties for training natural science teachers".
According to this decision, Hanoi National University of Education II was moved from the evacuation site to Xuan Hoa town, Phuc Yen, Vinh Phu (now Xuan Hoa ward, Phu Tho province). As one of the first faculties of the school, after 50 years of construction and development, the Faculty of Literature has achieved many achievements, becoming a prestigious address in training and fostering Literature teachers for the whole country.
By 2025, the Faculty has trained about 15,000 full-time students, retrained and fostered nearly 20,000 preschool, primary, secondary and high school teachers, lecturers and education managers for many provinces/cities across the country. Among them, many students and lecturers have become good managers of the country and the education sector, good teachers, excellent lecturers, writers, poets, journalists, talented businessmen...
According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Minh Duc, throughout the 50 years, the Faculty of Literature has been one of the pioneering units of Hanoi National University of Education 2 in opening and developing training majors.
From the early days of training in the single major of Literature Pedagogy, the Faculty gradually opened additional majors of Bachelor of Literature and Vietnamese Studies at the university level. From only one Master's major, up to now, the Faculty has had 6 Master's majors, with 4 majors following the research orientation and 2 majors following the application orientation.
In particular, the Faculty has opened a PhD training program in Literary Theory and has become one of the specialized units with a scale and training program at all 3 levels/systems: University, Master, Doctor. Notably, all of the Faculty's undergraduate and Master training programs have been externally evaluated and granted a National Education Quality Accreditation Certificate, including the 4-star UPM Plus certificate - becoming one of the pioneering units in the country to be granted an accreditation certificate for the entire Master training program in the field of Literature.
In line with the integration trend of the education sector and schools, the Faculty of Literature has signed cooperation agreements with the Vietnam Writers Association, the Vietnam Literature Museum, and many businesses, training units, travel agencies, hotels... to create a professional practice environment for students, especially students majoring in Vietnamese studies. At the same time, the alumni network has also become an important bridge. Many alumni have returned to the Faculty to participate in teaching, training, and exchanging professional experiences...

To achieve the above achievements, the Faculty has always determined to take care of developing the staff, especially lecturers. This is an important political task that the Faculty has always considered important for the past 50 years. For half a century, it has become a tradition that the Faculty of Literature has always increased the activities of seminars, invited leading experts to teach, exchanged academic expertise, thereby training and fostering the staff.
Currently, the Faculty has 30 staff, including 4 Associate Professors, 20 Doctors, 5 Masters. The proportion of Associate Professors and Doctors accounts for 80% of the lecturers in the Faculty. The Faculty's teaching staff are prestigious researchers in many fields: Language, Literary Theory, Literature Teaching Methods... Many teachers are Literature experts of the Ministry of Education and Training, and are Editors and authors of Literature textbooks for middle and high schools.
Talking about the 50-year history of the Faculty of Literature, it is impossible not to mention the generations of students, graduate students, and researchers. Since its establishment, students of the Faculty of Literature have always been people full of courage and will, rich in aspirations and passion, both intellectual and romantic, not only good at expertise and profession but also dynamic, creative, highly adaptable and most importantly, no matter where they live or what they do, they always maintain the character of the Faculty of Literature, which is humane and kind.
From the Faculty of Literature, many students have grown up and become useful citizens, capable officials, actively contributing to the development of the country...
With its achievements, the Faculty of Literature was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President; the Emulation Flag by the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements; and the Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Education and Training many times.
On behalf of generations of teachers who have worked at the School, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Huy Quang - former Head of the Faculty of Literature sent his congratulations to the Faculty on the achievements over the past 50 years. He highly appreciated the efforts of the Faculty in affirming its position as a prestigious scientific research unit, with many national and international scientific conferences successfully organized, and many valuable topics, works, and monographs published.
Associate Professor Dr. Do Huy Quang also sent his congratulations to generations of students of the Faculty of Literature - those who quickly affirmed their abilities after graduating, became good teachers, managers at many levels, received certificates of merit and contributed to spreading the reputation and brand of the Faculty in society.
He affirmed that in the development journey, the Faculty of Literature always determined to build a complete training system from university to postgraduate, aiming for a strong brand, contributing to the innovation of general education. At the same time, the Associate Professor suggested that the Faculty continue to develop a team of lecturers with high degrees and titles and promote scientific research to spread the value of training products more widely.

Sharing at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Toan Thang - former student of Course 1, former Director of the Institute of Culture and Development (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) - emotionally said: Although 50 years have passed, the memories of student days are still intact, pure and warm, full of teacher-student love, friendship as if it were yesterday. Many generations of students of the Faculty have grown up, held many positions in the education sector and other fields, contributing to building an increasingly prosperous country.
He expressed his pride and emotion at the tradition of building and developing the School and the Faculty of Literature - where generations of teachers have devoted their hearts and youth to the career of "growing people", training tens of thousands of Literature teachers, making great contributions to the cause of education, cultural development and Vietnamese people over the past half century.

Representing the partners who have been working and cooperating with the Faculty of Literature in the process of training students, People's Artist Tran Luc - Director of LucTeam Stage affirmed: With the spirit of innovation, creativity, and dedication to the profession, the teachers of the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi National University of Education 2 have always strived to help students explore literary works in many forms, including dramatizing literary works. Students have the opportunity to live fully with the work, experience the joy of learning, experience the stage, and cultivate a love for culture and art.
People's Artist Tran Luc hopes and believes that in the coming time, LucTeam Stage will have many opportunities to work with teachers and students of the Faculty of Literature in more in-depth projects.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Phung Gia The - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council suggested that in the coming time, the Faculty of Philology should continue to focus on improving the quality of training and building a team of lecturers. He emphasized equipping lecturers with foreign language and information technology skills to meet the teaching requirements in the new era; at the same time, developing training programs, opening more majors in the social sciences and humanities such as culture, journalism, communications, tourism, etc.
Associate Professor, Dr. Phung Gia The also suggested that the Faculty promote scientific research, international cooperation, increase the number of works published in prestigious international journals; focus resources on serving the community in the spirit of "Courage - Dynamic - Creativity", spreading humanistic values; expand career guidance and start-up programs and strengthen connections, develop the alumni network of the Faculty and the School in the coming time.
