On the afternoon of October 27th, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Oxford University (OUCRU), and Bayer Vietnam jointly organized the Science Switch 2025 Project with the theme "One Health" at Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School (Tan Binh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

Students learn about how to decipher the immune system.
The students are guided by their teachers in composing and performing songs in the schoolyard, creating paintings, and these games incorporate scientific knowledge…

Students from Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School participated in the 2025 Science Switch Project with the theme "One Health".
For example, the game "Street of Infection and Misfortune" helps children visualize how diseases spread in the community; the game "Antibiotic, Bacteria, and Virus War" not only describes how antibiotics kill bacteria but also points out some types of bacteria that are beneficial and harmful to the body; the game "Decoding the Immune System" helps children understand the immune system and factors such as environment and food that affect it; the game "Plant Doctor" guides children on some ways to care for plants when they are sick…

Students learn about science.
The program was organized at four junior high schools (including three in Ho Chi Minh City: Hoang Hoa Tham, Tan Tao, and Tan Son, and Long Tho Junior High School in Dong Nai province) with the participation of 5,200 students. Each school selected 5-7 students to be science ambassadors. These students were those who actively participated in the project activities, had knowledge of "One Health," and enjoyed communication. The ambassadors participated in an experiential trip to learn about the flora and fauna ecosystem at the Saigon Zoo, reinforcing their knowledge of "One Health" to gain more information and knowledge to disseminate scientific information to the community.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dac, Principal of Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School, said: "This is a meaningful activity that helps students approach science in a close, lively, and exciting way. The school always encourages students to learn, explore , and create."
Through the project activities, the children not only broadened their understanding of human health, animals, and the environment, but also developed a spirit of cooperation and scientific thinking skills.

The book One Health
This book is the result of a collaboration between the Red Scarf publication (Tuoi Tre Newspaper), the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU), and Bayer Vietnam, with professional support from a team of over 20 scientists and experts from various fields such as health science research, agriculture, communication, and education. Additionally, the content was edited by a group of students to make the writing style more accessible to young readers.
One Health speaks to the necessity of coordinated and sustainable development across three elements: Humans, Animals, and the Environment, aiming for comprehensive "resilience" for the Earth. In other words, when the environment or animals are affected by human activities, directly or indirectly, human health is also threatened, and vice versa.
