On December 11-12, at the Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam National Special Historical Site, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training awarded teachers and students who achieved high results in national, regional, and international student competitions in 2025 with a total prize money of nearly 23 billion VND.
On behalf of the Hanoi City leadership, the Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council, Tran The Cuong, presented awards to students and teachers who achieved high results. Among them, Nguyen Luong Thai Duy, from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, received the highest award, 365 million VND, for achieving a gold medal at the International Biology Olympiad; first prize in the city-level excellent student competition; and first prize in the national-level excellent student competition. Nguyen Manh Tuan, also from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students, received 350 million VND for achieving a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad and first prize in the national-level excellent student competition.
The group of teachers from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for Gifted Students who participated in training and nurturing gifted students to win awards received the highest reward: 805 million VND. They mentored one student who won a gold medal and one who won a bronze medal at the 2025 International Biology Olympiad; and mentored students who won 5 first prizes, 8 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 2 consolation prizes at the 2024-2025 National Excellent Student Competition.
Another group of teachers received a reward of 749 million VND for mentoring a student who won a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad; and mentoring students who won 5 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 6 third prizes, and 1 consolation prize in the national excellent student competition in the 2024-2025 school year. In addition, a group of teachers with outstanding achievements in training students in physics to achieve high results in national and international competitions also received a reward of 525 million VND...
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council affirmed that for many years, Hanoi has consistently been the leading locality nationwide in terms of both the number and quality of awards at national and international student competitions. Mr. Tran The Cuong emphasized that these awards are well-deserved, reflecting the efforts, hard work, and achievements of teachers and students in identifying, nurturing, and preparing gifted students.
